Future Partners Foundation for Development publishes its report on the situation of human rights in Yemen for January 2019

Future Partners Foundation for Development monitored (1069) cases of violation during January 2019. These human rights violations included direct killing, arbitrary arrest and forced concealment of many civilians, as well as the threat of planting mines, sniping, explosions of all kinds, in addition to storming and blowing up private homes, buildings, public buildings and places of worship. The report included cases of forced displacement of civilians and shelling of IDP camps and air strikes. As well as suicides, which rose significantly in January this year than in the months of last year.

The report documented (56) cases of direct killing among them (37) men, (10) women and (9) children. Eight civilians were killed by a sniper among them (1) man, (4) women and (3) children. While the cases of injuries were (17) cases, including (15) men, (1) woman and (1) child. And (3) civilians have been wounded by shot of a sniper, including (1) woman and (3) children.

The report confirmed the death of (29) civilians, including (19) men, (5) women and (5) children. And injury of (18) civilians, including (9) men, (2) women and (7) children.

Missiles and IEDs:

The report mentioned that (33) civilians were killed by these shells and mortars which killed (12) men, (5) women and (16) children, and (124) civilians were wounded, including (105) men, (1) woman and (18) children. While (8) civilians were killed by air strikes and (4) others were injured.

Arrest and forced concealment:

The organization's documentation team monitored that (314) civilians were arbitrary arrested, where most of them were males with (312) men, (1) woman and (1) child. (30) civilians were subjected to forced concealment, including (1) woman, (4) children and (25) men.

Storming and destroying public buildings and private residences:

The report documented that (22) houses were raided and looted all contents of furniture and other collectibles. (23) private houses were burned and destroyed by mortar projectiles or explosive devices. (3) buildings and places of worship were destroyed by mortars. (23) buildings and government and private institutions were exposed to fire and total destruction, including (schools, government facilities and private factories).

Shelling of camps and forced displacement:

The report confirmed that 300 families were subjected to forced displacement and leaving their homes. (2) camps were shelled what resulted in killing (8) civilians, including (6) women and (2) children, and injuring (32) civilians, including (27) men and (5) women.

Suicide and rape:

The report pointed out the increased number of suicides in January 2019, where the number of cases of suicide were (6) cases, including (4) men and (2) children, and (1) child was raped.

The report mentioned that during this month, (4) private hospitals in Dhamar were subjected to storm and closure under many justification, and (1) restaurant in Sana'a was subjected to break into and closure under the pretext of allowing men and women to stay together. The historical library of Zabid was raided and looted all its contents of books, manuscripts and historical manuscripts.

The report concluded that (1) Bran Museum in Dhamar was raided and looted all its collectibles of antiques, statues and antiquities.
