Report on the human rights situation in Yemen for the month of August 2020
431 �cases of violation between arrest, killing, suicide and house breaking

The human rights monitoring team of the Future Partners Foundation for Development and Human Rights issued its monthly report on the human rights situation in Yemen during the month of August of 2020. The report included many violations that affected civilians in many Yemeni cities, especially the cities that witness escalating violations, although they are outside the circle. Fighting like Ibb Governorate and Aden Governorate. It is supposed to witness the stability and absence of the state of violations that ordinary citizens are subjected to and the field observers condole this due to the lack of security and the proliferation of weapons, which contributed to the escalation of the phenomenon of violations. The monitoring team said that August of 2020 recorded a terrible escalation in violations over the past two months. The team recorded 431 cases of human rights violations during this month. The monitoring team said in its monthly report that the total number of violations that affected civilian citizens in all Yemeni cities, which the team was able to monitor despite its modest ability, amounted to 431 violations. The human rights and humanitarian violations mentioned in the report were distributed as follows:

First: direct killing
The team monitored 114 deaths and injuries to civilians during the month of August. Among them, 57 were killed, including 45 men, 7 women and 5 children. 57 civilians were wounded, including 54 men, one woman and 2 children.

Second: victims of snipers and mines
Mines and the areas where they are planted still pose a great danger to civilians, as they target them on the roads and farms in the vicinity of the proliferation of snipers who are stalking innocent civilians, including children and women, on the roads, public places and residential neighborhoods.
Two children were killed by a sniper fire, and 2 men, 2 women and 4 children were wounded by the bullets of snipers deployed in the contact areas.
The landmines killed 10 civilians, including 6 men, 2 women and 2 children.
It wounded 13 civilians, including 11 men and 2 children.

Third: missiles and Katyusha rockets
The report stated that 37 civilians were killed or wounded who were victims of the deadly shells and Katyusha rockets that are fired at civilians from time to time. It claimed 14 victims, including 11 men, 2 women and 1 children. It injured 23 civilians, including 22 men and 1 women.

Fourth, arbitrary detention and enforced disappearance
First: Arbitrary detention: The team monitored the exposure of 160 civilians to arbitrary detention. Among those arrested were 3 journalists and 1 TV director.
Second: Enforced disappearance: 31 civilians were subjected to enforced disappearance, including 22 men, 7 women and 2 children.

Fifth: storming and destroying public buildings and private residences

Seventh: suicide and rape
The report by the monitoring team of the Future Partners Foundation concluded that it monitored the escalation of suicides during the month of August, as the team monitored 2 suicides, all of them men.
There were 3 cases of rape, a child and 2 girls. According to indications that indicate an increase in the state of rape and suicide, which is kept silent for fear of shame, or because of the customs and traditions that prevent the disclosure and reporting of the case of rape that children and women are exposed to.
